VOLUNTEER AT THE PANTRY

The Pantry Runs Because Volunteers Show Up

Every service at the Scituate Food Pantry — from stocking shelves and sorting donations to delivering groceries and supporting clients — is carried out by community volunteers. There are no paid staff. Your time is the pantry's most valuable resource.

The best way to join our core team is to sign up for some Friday deliveries to get your feet wet and see what we're about! Our regular deliveries from the Greater Boston Food Bank come on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month and a Sign Up Genius email is sent to fill these spots. We tend to "promote from within" and we'll let you know if a regular spot opens up.

Additionally, we can also often use extra hands for special events and to assist in processing donations, restocking our shelves and unloading food deliveries.

VOLUNTEER HOURS:
Mondays and Thursdays: pickups at local grocery stores (regular rotating schedule, 9am-10:30am)
Tuesdays: 8:30/9am to 12:30pm (multiple open positions)
Thursdays: 11:30am to 5:30pm (multiple open positions)
Thursday home delivery: 2:00pm (must be over 18 and have valid license and transportation)
Friday deliveries: 1st + 3rd Fridays of the month

For some positions volunteers should be able to lift 30-50 lbs

We try to accommodate flexible schedules
